Make it six for you, Rana; google "releasing house mice" and you'll get your Eco-Confession, which I stumbled upon when writing this. Courtesy of the subsequent typo, I'm first for "releasing field mice", :), which really shouldn't be the case.

I'm rather pleased to see that trap worked for you; the last time I live-trapped a mouse the trap was too small and touchy, and ended up spooking the mouse away from all subsequent attempts to trap it.
Of course, now we have a cat... who fended off one mouse a week or so ago. (It was vaguely alarming; I notice that the fur mouse she was playing with was... alarmingly supple. And self-propelled!) It ended up escaping into the radiator duct - perhaps the way it came in?
