But unlike 1974, there are no principled Republicans left to go tell the Current Occupant, as Garrison Keillor calls him, that he needs to resign for the good of the country.
Yeah, what Linkmeister said. How low the country has fallen when Barry Goldwater seems like the voice of reason and authority. Impeach the little shit.
I used to think that impeachment was pointless, given that there would likely never be the necessary 2/3 majority in the Senate to remove Bush/Cheney from office. Thanks to the sleazy commutation of Libby, I've changed my mind. Although that necessary Senate majority may never exist, this country nonetheless needs to have its Congress go on record and impeach both the president and the vice president. Otherwise they will make it unscathed to 2009 (seriously, does all the huffing and puffing that we see from this Congress really matter?), making it even easier for successor to commit even worse crimes. I don't just want Bush impeached, I think for the health of our republic it is absolutely critical to impeach him. (and Cheney)
Thanks for linking this. He really says it all.

I never ever thought I'd miss Barry Goldwater.
