Sob Sob

I just learned from the mover people that I have to repack all the books I have in storage.

WAAAAAAAAAAH!

why on earth?

It's because a lot of the books are packed in whatever cardboard box I could find at the time. They want them in nice, tidy standard boxes (and probably new ones, without all the extra labels and writing and stuff). It might not involve _all_ the boxes, but there's enough of the weirdos that it might as well.

I may end up just placing boxes inside of boxes, rather than emptying and repacking, but that still requires the purchase of "official" packing boxes, and that's what's currently bugging me (as I need to wait for D's help with that).

That really, really, really sucks. I'm sitting here glaring at my own boxes of books, thinking I'd have to shoot anyone who asked me to do that. I have the standard sized ones, but they have writing on them from the two previous moves. If they don't like that, they can bite me. You, my dear, are being far nicer than I would be. After all, who's got the checkbook here??? Bastards!!!

Gosh, that's weird. The only thing the various moving companies we've used over the years have required is that the individual boxes not be too heavy. And writing on the boxes was never an issue either.

I have to wonder if this is more of the anti-terrorism nonsense???

In any case, I'll second russianviolets and say: that really, really, really sucks.

My, typepad is taking forever to post comments today!

I agree, that's weird. I've never been told that. Perhaps the moving company is a subsidiary of the cardboard-box-making company or vice-versa. Annoying.

I've never been told that either. Then again, I've never employed a moving company before--always just been me and whomever I could round up and a truck.

Maybe I can get a second opinion. (She says hopefully.)

I have to say, it's just another straw on the ol' camel's back this week. You know it's bad when you're walking around thinking "I feel stressed" and keep wanting to cry.

It sounds to me like they want to sell you boxes, the stinkers! I would definitely appeal this to a higher court.
