Apple Battery Recall

Those of you who are using Powerbooks or iBooks purchased in the last year might want to go look at this recall notice.

Thanks for the info. Fortunately, my battery isn't within the recall range.

That's good!

They got me.

Fortunately, the replacement is relatively hassle-free, it seems. fill in a web form and they send a new battery with a pre-paid envelope for the recalled one. We'll see!

My laptop falls outside the recall range too, and Apple no longer makes batteries for my model. But at least I was able to find a good battery from other sources.

That's also good. The aftermarket for Mac stuff isn't too bad, if you're willing to hunt a bit and can live with peripherals that aren't as aesthetically pleasing.

Update: received replacement battery today. Works fine. Old one to be mailed out tomorrow. Happy ending, I suspect.
