If you are a person who likes to wear black pants, black shoes, and a black hoodie, wouldn't it be better for you to cross the busy 4-lane road at a stoplight? At the very least, find a street light to make it easier for drivers to see you as you amble across the road at night.
I hate panic attacks. HAAAAAAATE them. Especially the ones that happen in the middle of the night for no goddamn reason at all. F'in' MVP syndrome.
On the other hand, I looooove crossword puzzles. Calming, soothing, mind-distracting until I can get back to sleep crossword puzzles.
I have bought a pair of the most kick-ass bright red vinyl boots. With a big silver buckle. And a funky retro-poster lining. For only $20. And they don't hurt my feet!
Aaaaaaah! I'm leaving the state Thursday and I haven't got ANYTHING done!
On the other hand, clever me has decided to give gift certificates for hand-made gifts for Christmas. Though this may mean I spend the rest of the year going insane as I try to knit all those gifts at once.
It is weird eating tentacles for breakfast. Even teeny weeny cute ones wrapped in phylo dough.
It is hard to come up with anything else to say after typing the two sentences preceding this one.

Tentacles?

Well I for one would absolutely adore any gift knitted from tentacles.

Yeah, they were little bitty calamari tentacles, part of some sort of seafood puff pastry.
I love the idea of a knitted squid/tentacle thing!

How about a knitted stuffed octopus?

I'm having a hard time getting over tentacles for breakfast, and it's not just because I'm a vegetarian ;-)

Well, they were part of a fancy brunch that included a lot of seafood. My ability to put together a coherent meal was not working for some reason, so I ended up with some damn weird things on my plate. I don't remember what exactly about the pastry made me pick it up, but it was pretty tasty -- at least the seafood filling (which included bits of fish and shellfish as well as tiny tentacles). The pastry itself was steam-table-stale. Yuck.
Anyway, tentacles aren't that bad, if they are small enough to be tender. Fried calamari and Gallician pulpo are excellent, if one likes seafood at all. Octopus sashimi is more of a stretch, mostly because it is sooooo chewy, and sometimes the suckers will stick to your tongue.
(Yes, I find this disturbing too. I don't eat octopus sashimi myself, aside from one taste once; it was my brother who made the sucker-tongue discovery.)
Yeah, I guess you could call me a fairly adventurous eater!

brina -- I've added a pic of the boots (click to enlarge). Enjoy!
(And if I ever _do_ knit a squid, I'll be sure to take a picture of it.)

Octopus sashimi? Sashimi is raw fish--maguro, hamachi, et al. At most it is slightly cured--saba. Octopus is always served cooked, not raw. Cold, but definitely cooked.

OK. Some people eat it raw, but it's better cooked.

Dig the boots.
Pseudonymous kid is a big fan of octopus and calimari. He was upset once when I ordered him baby octopus though, so he does draw the line somewhere.

:)
J -- I don't know what they do to the tentacle before they attach it to the rice with the seaweed -- I've assumed it was raw, but maybe they cook it a bit first. It's still pretty "in your face" as it sits there, though.
