Mmm, Tasty!
I taste like Bread.I am a staple in almost everyone's diet. Friends like me are a complement to any other friends I get on with almost everyone, remaining mostly in the background, but providing substance when it would otherwise be lacking. What Flavour Are You? |
I've been thinking about baking bread lately, and drooling over the challah descriptions at wolfangel's (alas, I do not have a bread mixer, just my two hands and a big wooden spoon). So this worked out well.

Just preparing you in case you visit me and see: I'm a Beef Eater. ;) Hey, what can I say, got two growin' boys, it's a mentality.

Apparently, I am beef...but if I wasn't I'd be vanilla.

If you're not incredibly lazy, I'm told you can knead dough by hand (I've even heard that's how people did it all the time once!). I am incredibly lazy. I use a food processor to slice vegetables most of the time. But I won't use a bread machine.

I love kneading bread. It's therapeutic.

If the challah is kneadable, then, hey, maybe I'll try it!
Bread is just cool all around -- the kneading, the smell, the eating... :)

Challah is definitely kneadable. Mix everything together, then knead it. Let rise for 10 minutes, knead again. Let rise, punch down, let rise, braid, let rise, cook.
I love when my house smells all yeasty.

I got sugar--pretty boring.

You should've posted it, C. I've not seen "Sugar" yet.

Check it out here:
I am sweet, like Sugar.
I am all sweetness and light; fluffy bunnies and dancing fairies; happiness and joy. Too much of me will make you sick. What Flavour Are You?

Well, that's what I like about you!

Aaaww! Thanks! I took the test again, now that I'm in a depressed, introspective mood, and I got
chicken. Go figure.

Experiment Degustatory
A gourmet challenged me to eat
A tiny bit of rattlesnake meat
Remarking,"Don't look horror-stricken,
You'll find it tastes a lot like chicken."
It did.
Now chicken I cannot eat,
Because it tastes like rattlesnake meat.
Ogden Nash
took me forever to find it, because I kept thinking it was alligators. Those are in the pie, though.
Silly poems I read when I was a kid. Fun.

I've now made the challah -- very tasty! (I'll post a picture when I get some free time.)
Nash can be a lot of fun. :)
